Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, I have taken full advantage of the flexibility of working remotely throughout my career, allowing me to live in various places across the United States and even Europe. Currently, I'm enjoying life on Watts Bar Lake in the Tennessee Valley.
I’m currently part of the executive team at Halfbrick, where I help lead the company with a focus on Halfbrick+, our constantly evolving platform that brings together our games into a broader gaming ecosystem. Day to day, I look after everything under the umbrella of marketing and customer experience — including performance marketing, user acquisition, creative asset production (both static and video), community, social, customer support, and the overall player journey.
I’m also the vision holder and product manager for the Halfbrick+ ecosystem, which includes both the Halfbrick+ Hub app and the in-game SDK experience that ties everything together. On top of that, I manage third-party developer relations for the games we publish on the platform.
Before joining Halfbrick, I was the Director of Mobile Publishing at GameMill Entertainment. There, I worked with licensors of world-class IP and launched the free-to-play mobile version of Nickelodeon Kart Racers, maintained the ongoing success of PGA Tour Golf Shootout, and managed the full lifecycle of development for Rapala Fishing World Tour.
Prior to this, I served as the Vice President of Business Development at GameClub, a startup that raised $5 million to revitalize premium mobile games. My responsibilities included scouting and signing new games for GameClub, promoting our work within the gaming industry, and acting as the primary contact for developers, the media, and our community.
GameClub was acquired by Take Two Interactive, and I stayed on as General Manager, handling the day-to-day logistics and operations of the entire organization during this transition. Before GameClub, I spent a decade managing content and leading a large team of full-time and freelance writers at TouchArcade, the top iOS gaming site.
I have spoken at various conventions and conferences on four different continents, either giving talks or participating in panels on numerous topics related to mobile gaming. Additionally, I have an extensive portfolio of historical consulting projects, ranging from helping independent developers launch a single $0.99 game to advising Activision on the $5.9 billion acquisition of King. I also actively participate in several experts networks across the game industry.
Camping out for the original iPhone release was a major turning point in my life, leading to my deep involvement in iOS gaming even before the App Store launched in 2008. Mobile gaming, in all its forms, is a lifelong passion of mine, and my goal is to continue playing an even larger role in its future.
In a previous career, I was a web developer and server administrator, focusing on enterprise web applications before the term "web apps" existed. I worked at various startups during the tail end of the dot-com bubble, overseeing all levels of enterprise deployment, from purchasing and installing hardware in data centers to training end-users on site. Eventually, I took a more active role in business development.
I have also worked in the medical software industry, specializing in ANSI 837 electronic claims processing, data security, legacy migration, and HIPAA compliance, as well as managing large teams of both in-house and outsourced developers building practice management and electronic medical records systems.
Before all of that, I grew up on a goat farm.
